Did my best to sleuth down an answer, but for the life of me can’t figure out how to change which side (right or left) the sidepanel opens up on.
One computer it opens on right, second on left - driving me crazy I can’t dictate my preference on which side it opens up on.

You can change which side the Extension’s Side Panel opens from in Chrome Settings: chrome://settings/appearance
Click the dropdown next to Side panel position and choose whether you want it to open on the left or right:
