Processing multi-page png with OCR Image block

Hello,

I have been trying to extract data from a multiple page png file using the OCR Image block.
Each time, it extracts the full contents of the first page, but that’s it.
I also tried using the Analyze Image block with instructions to extract all pages found in file, but it’s the same result.

When I preview the MindStudio generated url that the png is hosted at, I can see both pages.

Am I missing something, or is the OCR Image block only able to process one page at a time from a png file?

Thanks for sharing the file!

It looks like this is an animated PNG (APNG), rather than a standard PNG, and that format isn’t supported by the Analyze Image block yet.

Here are a few workarounds that should let the Analyze Image block process it:

  • Convert the image to a different format: a standard PNG, PDF, or another common format
  • Split it into two separate PNG files
  • Combine the two frames into a single image so they’re displayed together instead of as an animation
